Description

The Fighter™ Guidewire with hydrophilic coating is engineered for enhanced control and trackability during percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA) and other interventional procedures.

  • Design: Manufactured with a forming-type straight tip, with select models available in a pre-shaped J-tip configuration, ensuring versatility for different anatomical challenges.

  • Coating: The distal section is coated with a polyethylene oxide hydrophilic layer for improved lubricity, while the proximal shaft is treated with a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and titanium dioxide blend for reduced friction and optimal handling.

  • Structure:

    • Core wire: Stainless steel for strength and torque response.

    • Welded tip: Silver/tin alloy for durability.

    • Coil wrap: Platinum/nickel/stainless steel, ensuring excellent radiopacity.

    • Polymer jacket: Polyurethane, providing flexibility and vessel protection.

  • Compatibility: The 190 cm model includes a modified proximal end that allows connection of the Stretch™ extension for added working length.

The combination of hydrophilic and PTFE coatings provides low-friction advancement through tortuous anatomy while maintaining strong pushability and support.
