Chemical Composition: PHIL is a non-adhesive copolymer dissolved in Dimethyl Sulfoxide (DMSO). Unlike older agents that use tantalum powder for visibility, PHIL has iodine chemically bonded to the polymer.

Homogeneous Visibility: Because the radiopaque component is bonded, the visibility remains uniform throughout the injection. This eliminates the “settling” issues associated with powder-based agents and significantly reduces “streak artifacts” during post-operative CT scans.
